HOUSE OF COSMOS

In the dimly lit hall, you witness the construction of a monumental structure – the House of Space. The building, which will house a scientific research center, is a giant sculptural portrait of Yuri Gagarin on a majestic pedestal. However, the viewer sees a reduced image, a kinetic model that easily fits into the exhibition hall space. A metal frame is being erected. Workers are busy welding, their figures appear very small on the giant metal structures. They resemble ants. Welding lights flash, and the lights of spotlights strike the eyes. The noise of the machinery drowns out the voices of the builders.

This video is a prototype – a small model of the House of Space — with movement, light, and sound.

Size: H80X50X50cm.

Materials and technique: welding, metal, plastic, electric motor, mechanical drive, LEDs, audio system. Only the construction cranes move – they rotate in a circle, like on a theater stage.
